My husband was having some pain and heaviness on the left side of his chest, we contacted Dr. N N Khanna for further diagnosis and treatment plan for this.
From the very beginning, when we contacted Dr. Khanna, the level of professionalism and dedication was evident. We had a detailed consultation over the phone, where Dr. Khanna meticulously reviewed all the reports we had and we planned for an angiography to get further information. Despite it being the week of festival of Diwali, Dr. Khanna was keen to get us in as soon as possible. We planned the procedure within days after the first consultation.
This was followed by a seamless admission process at Apollo Hospital, thanks to the pre-arrangements made by Dr. Khanna and his team, including blocking a bed for us and pre-authorizing the procedure with our insurance company.
I would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Kritika Arora, whose assistance ensured that we got to our room quickly and that all the necessary tests were performed without any delay.
The actual procedure took place same day in the afternoon once the test reports were available. Dr. Khanna met us in the Cath lab, where he again explained the procedure, its risks, and benefits in great detail. The angiography was completed within 20-30 minutes, and post-procedure, Dr. Khanna discussed the different outcomes with both the patient and me, providing us with the options based on the angiography results. He showed us the images and videos, explained all the findings, and answered all our questions patiently, giving us ample time to make our decision.
We decided to proceed with angioplasty in the same sitting, which took another 20-30 minutes and was performed smoothly. Throughout the entire procedure, my husband did not experience any discomfort or pain, thanks to Dr. Khanna's constant engagement and reassurance.
Following the procedure, my husband was moved to the CCU for one day, where the staff, especially the nursing in-charge and duty nurses, provided exceptional care special call out to sisters Vineetha & Khushboo and their nursing supervisors.
The next day, he was moved back to our room, and all dressings were removed. We were impressed by the knowledgeable, caring, and expert staff at Apollo Hospital, I do want to acknowledge that Indraprastha Apollo Hospital has a dedicated team that specialises in canula insertion, the specialized canula nurses ensured that the canula was inserted without any pain or discomfort.
I also want to take a minute to acknoledge the support and care provided by the housekeeping & food services staff, special shout out to Ranjan and his team from housekeeping!
Dr. Khanna's visit to the ward to explain the importance of adhering to the prescribed medication post-procedure, along with the necessary lifestyle changes, was greatly appreciated. His experience, skill, patience, and kindness made us feel extremely fortunate to have him as our treating Interventional Cardiologist.
We also had a quick discharge procedure, everything was taken care of without much delays, and final settlement could be done on the same floor as our room. Discharge summary and all medicines were well explained by sister on duty.
