Dr. Rajesh Taneja - Best Urologist in Delhi | Apollo Hospital is committed to providing compassionate and personalized care to enhance your well-being.

Dr. Rajesh Taneja is a very skilled urologist, but unfortunately, our experience showed a lack of basic human empathy. My mother had kidney stones along with urological issues, UTI, and inflammation. She was admitted to Apollo Hospital under his care for 4–5 days for UTI treatment, and medically, her treatment was appropriate. However, Apollo Hospital is extremely expensive, though we somehow managed to clear the bills. Later, Dr. Taneja informed us that the UTI could persist due to the presence of kidney stones and advised surgery. The estimated cost of the surgery was ₹7–8 lakhs, which was completely unaffordable for us. Due to financial constraints, we went to ILBS, where the stones were successfully removed. My mother recovered well after the surgery and subsequent stent removal. After her recovery, we decided to follow up with Dr. Taneja again. Initially, he welcomed us, but after reviewing our medical records and realizing that the surgery was done at another hospital, his attitude changed completely. We tried to explain that our decision was purely financial, but he became angry, threw the files, mistreated my parents, and bluntly refused to treat my mother. It felt as though his reaction was driven by the fact that we did not undergo surgery at Apollo. This experience reflected a money-driven mindset—not only of the individual doctor but also of the hospital system itself. Patient well-being should come before institutional or financial interests. His justification was that he did not know which medicines were given, what treatment was done, or which bacteria were involved. However, in today’s medical system, all records, investigations, and treatment details are well documented and transferable between hospitals. A doctor is expected to treat patients regardless of where prior treatment was received—that is the essence of the medical oath. Sadly, in India, many doctors are treated like gods, but some behave more like dictators—egoistic and profit-oriented rather than compassionate caregivers.
My mother has been consulting Dr. Rajesh Taneja and we are very happy with his treatment. He listens to the problem carefully, explains everything clearly, and gives the right advice. She had been struggling with health issues for some time, but his guidance and medicines have really helped her feel better. He is very knowledgeable, polite, and supportive. I truly appreciate his care and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good urologist.
I had been suffering from a severe burning sensation for almost a year. Ultrasound showed cystitis, and despite consulting several top urologists and taking multiple antibiotics, I got no lasting relief. Tests were always normal, but my symptoms worsened, and I eventually passed blood clots in urine and underwent cystoscopic surgery. Even after surgery, the burning continued. While searching online, I came across Dr. Rajesh Taneja’s videos and patient reviews on youtube including google reviews I decided to consult him at Apollo Hospital, Jasola, Delhi. During my first visit, he patiently listened to my full history and explained everything clearly. Within just one month of treatment, I felt about 80% relief. Dr. Taneja is truly like a god to me. If you are suffering from chronic cystitis, interstitial cystitis, or persistent burning, don’t waste time — meet Dr. Rajesh Taneja. Thank you so much, Doctor, for your excellent treatment and guidance.
I am very disappointed with the treatment my father received from Dr. Rajesh Taneja. My father was diagnosed with a hypocontractile urinary bladder, which means his bladder muscles were weak. There was no obstruction, yet TURP surgery was still advised and performed. After the surgery, his condition did not improve, and later another urologist confirmed that TURP was not necessary in such cases. I feel that we were not properly informed about alternative treatment options and the risks involved. The decision for surgery seemed more financially motivated than medically justified. I am sharing this review so that others take a second opinion before undergoing surgery. Always discuss every detail thoroughly and ask for clear justification before agreeing to an invasive procedure.
Extremely good experience. Doctor Taneja is quite humble with lot of patience. He discuss and understand the problems in detail and give very satisfactory and logical responses
