I would strongly urge families against placing their trust in Dr. Manmohan and his team (Dr. Abhishek, Dr. Ashish, and Dr. Farhana) at the BLK-MAX Hospital. My 66-year-old mother, a diabetic and hypertensive patient, was admitted for severe and persistent urinary urgency, yet astonishingly no urine routine examination or culture was conducted during the entire admission, meaning the primary complaint was never investigated in accordance with even the most basic diagnostic protocol. Instead, she was subjected to a barrage of neurological investigations — MRI under sedation, EEG, Holter monitoring, and repeated blood investigations — and administered steroids, sedatives, and medication described as for hallucinations under a vague and poorly explained working diagnosis of encephalopathy. At no stage was a clear explanation provided regarding the clinical rationale, differential diagnosis, or the risk–benefit implications of administering such heavy neurological medication to an elderly patient. Disturbingly, following these interventions, my mother experienced marked cognitive deterioration, including difficulty recognizing immediate family members after discharge — a condition that was not present at the time of admission. Equally alarming was the complete erosion of supervision, professionalism, and accountability. While the primary consultant travelled during the hospitalization, the case was left in the hands of his junior team, who displayed a striking lack of clinical ownership and seriousness. Repeated concerns regarding the patient’s worsening condition were met with indifference. At one point, Dr. Ashish openly stated that he had a “personal life” and could not be repeatedly contacted, despite the patient being under active hospital care. When the matter was escalated to Senior Administration Officer Shimonti Yadav and HOD Mr. Kshitiz, we were assured a formal meeting the following morning to address the concerns raised. That meeting, however, never materialized. Instead, Dr. Abhishek curtly stated that the meeting would not take place and that if we wished to proceed with discharge, it could be arranged — an astonishing response that reflected the team’s inability, or unwillingness, to provide diagnostic clarity or engage with legitimate patient concerns. The demeanour of the junior doctors was equally troubling, marked by dismissive behaviour, smirking responses, and visible impatience during serious conversations regarding the patient’s health. What was initially presented as a three-day observation admission was stretched to an entire week, resulting in expenditure nearing ₹5 lakh, while the primary complaint remained fundamentally unaddressed. The sequence of events left the unmistakable impression of excessive testing without coherent diagnostic direction or clinical accountability. Since discharge, the medical team has effectively turned completely unresponsive — neither replying to emails nor arranging the meeting that was explicitly assured, leaving the family without explanation, transparency, or closure. The entire episode reflects deeply troubling lapses in diagnostic prioritization, indiscriminate investigations, opaque medication practices, and a dismissive attitude toward patient welfare and family concerns. Beyond the considerable financial burden, this experience resulted in severe physical exhaustion for the patient, measurable cognitive decline, and immense emotional distress for the family. For an institution that presents itself as a tertiary-care centre of excellence, such conduct is not merely disappointing — it is profoundly concerning.

We are truly thankful to Dr. M. M. Mehndiratta, Senior Neurologist at BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, for the compassionate care he provides to my 75-year-old dementia survivor mother. What stands out most is his genuine concern for the patient. He treats my mother with patience, dignity, and warmth, never making her feel rushed or ignored. He listens carefully, observes even small changes in her behavior, and explains the treatment plan in simple, reassuring words. At the age of 72, in May last year, on my way to work in the Metro, I had a sudden feeling of numbness on my left together with a feeling of disorientation. As my work place is in Rajendra Place, I changed the Metro at Rajiv Chowk and reached there and got myself admitted in the emergency at BLK which was luckily in close proximity. My luck and fate stood me further in good stead as I was put under the care of Dr. Man Mohan Mehndiratta. After the precautionary stay in ICU I was discharged. One of most likeable thing about Dr. Man Mohan Mehndiratta is his ability to hear you with Buddha like calm and patience, which in my opinion plays a significant role to alleviate a patient. Compound that with his vast experience from practice and extensive updated knowledge, I would attribute my being well today largely to Dr. Man Mohan Mehndiratta who has been a pillar of support and encouragement. Thanks to his care I was able to join work in a month's time from my hospitalisation.
We had a great experience with Dr ManMohan Mehndiratta, who was caring for my mother. Dr. Man Mohan is a superb neurologist who is incredibly informed, committed, compassionate, and perceptive. He takes the time to thoroughly explain everything, making sure that any worries are taken care of. His generosity and care were what most impressed us; they helped my mother feel at ease and reassured during her therapy. We are very appreciative of the help and care we received. The treatment plan has been effective, and we are truly grateful for the care and support we received. Highly recommended!
